Pastoral Care Services

Pastoral care/spiritual supports are an important part of your care. Pastoral Care services aim to meet the spiritual needs for you, your family and staff through regular church services, pastoral visitation, supportive counseling, and supportive care in emergencies and crisis situations. The dates and times of services are displayed on the monthly activity calendars. Some sites have a full time Chaplain on staff while pastoral volunteers and community clergy provide this service at other sites. We respect all religious affiliations and welcome clergy of all faiths.

Pastoral Care in Long-Term Care Facilities

Identification of Your Religion
When you are admitted to a long-term care facility you are given the opportunity to identify your religious affiliation. Routine visitation is organized based on the information collected at the time of admission. A request for a pastoral care visit can be made at any time and will be responded to promptly.

Individuals who prefer not to have a visit from clergy or prefer not to disclose their religion are free to do so. Residents’ wishes will always be respected. Individuals who do not have a religious affiliation are welcome to have the spiritual care support role provided to them by non-denominational pastoral care staff.

Occasionally the proper information cannot be collected during the application and admitting process. In such cases, staff will collect and update the data after admission.
