Registered Dieticians
Registered dietitians (RD) in long-term care help to plan your diet to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
Registered dietitians take into account you, or loved one’s, likes and dislikes, religious practices and cultural customs, within the availability of resources. Registered dietitians work with food service staff to ensure your diet meets Canada’s Food Guide requirements.
Registered dietitians services are available to all residents upon referral and a referral can be made by you, your family or any member of the health-care team. These professionals see people on a priority basis, and may also initiate referrals to other team members, when appropriate.
